ABOUT CATHERTINE'S KINDERGARTEN
Catherine’s Kindergarten is a deeply personal, feature-length documentary that can give hope to anyone who has suffered a loss. It’s a film that transforms grief into meaning and shows a way forward towards acceptance, peace and even joy.
Directed by Kaye Cleave and James Daggett, the film charts the journey of a mother confronting the death of her only child and her decision to travel to a remote Himalayan village in Nepal to open a kindergarten she funded in her daughter’s memory.
The documentary weaves together two journeys. The first, the physical journey, charts the grueling trek into the mountains to open the school. The second, the emotional journey, reveals the raw, unfiltered process of grieving, resilience, and transformation.
If grief has ever shattered your life, or you simply want to understand the courage it takes to endure and rebuild after losing everything, Catherine’s Kindergarten will open your heart and soothe your soul. Ultimately, the film demonstrates the power of stories to heal, connect, and give hope in the darkest of times.
