Barefoot Sea To Summit - Soles for Souls on the Solstice Sat June 21st - Lifeline
The plan – to walk barefoot from the waters of Glenelg Beach, Adelaide to the city’s local summit Mount Lofty.
It’s my sole walk idea to support Lifeline (ph 13 11 14) who support the souls of those who desperately need it.
My skin vs the rest of the world in an all-day battle for [a trophy of some sort].
24km sideways and 820m upwards. From sea&sand to bitumen&concrete to paths&parks.
From summer during night and day, I’ve clocked 600km of barefoot training around town. I’ve been through the tippy toe stage, bulging blister stage and now have feet bottoms that look like beautiful warts. I feel ready. Over summer frying pan city streets, those damned gum nuts, ooey gooey chewing gum, rusty steel shards, nightclub glass and maybe even some dog poop. Oh, and I stubbed my toes quite a few times - you may have heard my screams.
