Suit up for mental health
Event Summary
Suit Up for Mental Health brought people together for a powerful and symbolic charity fitness event that challenged both body and mindset. Participants arrived in business suits and professional attire, stepping straight into discomfort to highlight the daily pressure carried by those living with mental illness.
The event featured a group warm-up followed by a 20-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session led by Functional Strength and Performance Coach Dean Kirk, who motivated and guided the group throughout.
With a minimum $20 donation per participant, the event successfully raised $961 for Lifeline, a charity that provides critical mental health crisis support and quite literally saves lives every day.
Conclusion
What made this day truly special wasn’t just the suits, the sweat, or the spectacle it was the purpose behind it. By choosing to do something uncomfortable, participants sent a clear message: mental health matters, conversations matter, and showing up matters.
As a first responder who has seen firsthand the impact of Lifeline at moments of absolute crisis, supporting this charity wasn’t just meaningful it was personal. Every dollar raised helps keep someone on the other end of the phone, offering hope when it’s needed most.
