💙 Riding for Connection, Healing, and Hope
This Friday, 7th November, I’m taking on The Tassie Gift — an 1,800 km self-supported bikepacking race around Tasmania, climbing over 30,000 metres through some of the most rugged and beautiful landscapes on earth.
I’m riding to raise awareness and funds for Lifeline, a service that offers vital support to people in crisis and works to prevent suicide across Australia. Tragically, more than nine Australians die by suicide every day. Every 24 seconds, someone reaches out to Lifeline via phone, text, or online chat. With your help, we can ensure these lifesaving services continue to operate anywhere, anytime, for anyone — 24/7.
This cause is deeply personal. Dear friends of mine tragically lost their beautiful son and brother, Maxie, to suicide — a young man who loved mountain biking, adventure, and the wild beauty of Tasmania. As I ride through the places he once explored, I’ll be carrying his spirit, and his family, with me.
Most of us know how healing it can be to move through nature — how it grounds, uplifts, humbles, and reminds us we belong to something greater. Through this journey, I hope to honour Maxie’s memory, spark honest conversations about mental health, soften the silos of struggle we so often exist within, and help ensure no one has to face their toughest moments alone.
Every dollar raised for Lifeline goes directly toward saving lives.
Every pedal stroke is for connection, healing, and hope.
