Hello everyone!
My name is Justin Tolentino. I’m a 17 year old Filipino, born and raised in Western Sydney. I enjoy keeping myself active, serving in the church, and sharing content and stories across social media.
This September, I’ll be running a 75 km Ultra Marathon to help raise awareness & funds for Suicide Prevention Month.
While I’m extremely blessed to have never personally lost anyone to suicide, mental health was once a significant obstacle in my own life and I know I’m not alone.
During 2024, I was silently enduring many challenges regarding my mental, physical, and spiritual health.
One night, after keeping everything to myself for many months, I decided to reach out and call Lifeline Australia.
During that conversation, I felt a level of support and reassurance that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
What stuck with me most was the fact that a complete stranger was able to have such a significant impact on my life simply by listening and making me feel heard.
This September, during Suicide Prevention Month, I want to help others experience the same warmth, compassion, and support that I felt that night.
Through this run, I hope to remind those who may be quietly enduring their own hardships that it’s okay to reach out, to be heard, and to keep going.
Padayon a Filipino term meaning to move forward despite adversity.
