60 km of Becoming
This October, I’ll be taking on a 60 km ultra trail marathon in Portland.
It’s one of the biggest physical challenges I’ve ever set for myself. Long hours on the trail, early starts, tired legs, and moments where it will just come down to one step at a time.
A big part of this journey is what happens around it too. My wife Kim and our son Atlas are part of every training run, giving up time together so I can head out for long hours on the trails. I don’t take that lightly.
Most of my runs are simple. No music, no distractions. Just nature, breath, and thoughts that come and go. There’s something honest about that space that keeps me going back.
I’m running this ultra to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. Their work supporting people through crisis and suicide is something I deeply respect, and I want this challenge to contribute in some small way.
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing parts of the journey, the training, and what I learn along the way.
Thanks for being part of it.
One step at a time.
