The CMET Step Challenge 2020 is raising money for Lifeline Australia.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.

“Lifeline exists to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone. Our experience has shown us that it is through connection that we can find hope. We are available 24 hours a day to listen, without judgement to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.”

Somewhere is Australia there is a call to Lifeline every 30 seconds. In 2019, 1 in 5 calls went unanswered. Donate today to support Lifeline.

A number of studies have found that exercise helps depression. There are many views as to how exercise helps people with depression:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Exercise may block negative thoughts or distract you from daily worries.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Exercising with others provides an opportunity for increased social contact.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Increased fitness may lift your mood and improve your sleep patterns.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Exercise may also change levels of chemicals in your brain, such as serotonin, endorphins and stress hormones.
