You have reached this page because you have listened to my song, "I'm Cooking Up Your Favourite Thing", which unlike it's cheery title, was written during a bout of depression brought by a sustained, perfect storm of COVID related things in my life. I wrote this song while I was forced out of work, my income was decimated, my identity as a dependable man and father was under attack, my wife and daughter had tested positive for COVID, my son was sick and my anxiety was sky-high. But I am one of the lucky ones to have people to lean on in my dark times, many do not.
No one should have to face their darkest moments alone. Australia is facing a national suicide emergency. Lifeline is experiencing an unprecedented number of calls during COVID. Last year Lifeline received more than 1 million contacts from people in crisis.
100% of proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated to Lifeline.
Funds raised will enable Lifeline to answer more calls on their 24-hour telephone crisis support service – 13 11 14, to recruit and train more volunteers, to continue to provide and expand their suicide awareness and prevention programs nationally.
