Sixth Run of the Month (23/08/25)
Today was my sixth run of the month and my nineteenth Park Run at Nepean River. I completed my run today with Olly. (I forgot to post this at the time I did this so this is a bit delayed and playing catch up with my blog 😅)
Fifth Run of the Month (20/08/25)
Bridge to bridge run at Nepean River. Slow and consistent jogging. Definitely did not want to run today with it being rainy and feeling tired after work but I got it done. As soon as I got home I got ready and went, so it didn’t give me time, to think myself out of it😅. Once I started I felt good and I think I’ve found that I enjoy running in the rain, it was a nice and peaceful run. This run felt good and I think I paced myself very well. Something that kept me motivated during this run, and to distract my mind from focusing on the running, as well as a reward to myself for this run was getting myself a box of the limited edition Harry Potter Krispy Kreme donuts😋. I am now 36kms down in my challenge with 14kms remaining.
Fourth Run of the Month (16/08/25)
Today was my fourth run of the month and my eighteenth Park Run at Nepean River. I jogged a slow and consistent 5kms in 34mins 31secs. I was still a bit sick today (I was sick before city2surf, but I think running in the cold and rain didn’t help and I got worse this week. I took some time off work this week and I was already planning to have this week off running which I did to rest after city2surf and it helped me to rest to get better from this sickness as well). I am very happy with getting up today and running because I think if I wasn’t doing this challenge I would’ve stayed in bed to rest and sleep in. But I didn’t really cough much when running and I’m feeling okay after my run. 30kms down and now 20kms to go, almost there!!
Third Run of the Month - City 2 Surf (10/08/25)
My first City 2 Surf with Olly, Marlena, Lisa and Nat. This has been my longest run by far! Before this, the furthest I have ever ran I think was 7km in cross country in high school. I did my first 10km and my first 14km 😆 aaand it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. I did have to make a brief (felt like forever!) stop at the first 1km to use the bathroom to pee (the tea at breakfast wasn’t the best idea) but after that I jogged slow and consistently to heartbreak hill. I made a few brief stops during heartbreak hill but very slowly jogged most of it and a few more brief occasional stops after. I impressed myself with how well I did, despite being sick and the wet weather. The atmosphere was awesome!! I can’t believe I am saying this but I would definitely do it again!!😯
Second Run of the Month (06/08/25)
Bridge to Bridge run at Nepean River. This was my eighth time doing the River Run (overall). Slow consistent jogging the whole time, 6.43km in 46mins 10secs. I was so happy with not stopping this time during the river run. I did get that lactic acid feeling in my stomach about half way through and really wanted to stop but I kept pushing through. I slowed right down and focused on my breathing and the music (having music this run really helped keep me distracted from the pain until it passed, I think I’ll keep using music for future runs). This is my second run of my monthly 50km challenge and my last one before City2Surf on Sunday. I do expect to be running and walking it and will be happy with running half of it.
First Run of The Month (02/08/25)
Today was my first run of the month as part of my 50kms challenge. I jogged a slow and consistent 5kms the whole way at Park Run, Nepean River with Olly. I got a time of 33mins 39secs. I did slow right down in the middle of the second lap when I got the lactic acid feeling in my stomach but I kept pushing through and didn’t stop, then finished strong with a burst of energy.Thank you to my Sponsors
