Run for Andrew V

By Peter Jones

Run for Andrew V

I am really excited to announce the details of “Run for Andrew V”.

The run/walk around The 'Tan will be held on the afternoon of Saturday the 15th of March 2025.  The run/walk followed by dinner and drinks that evening at The Main Room, Bells Hotel in South Melbourne, is in memory of our friend Andrew Sprague who passed away on the 4th of December 1988.

The event is not only for friends and family to remember Andrew, those who did not know Andrew are also most welcome to join. The event is to have some fun and raise money for those in need of mental health support.

Mental health is a cause that most people can relate to. It would be great if you could participate.

This year we will have James McGlashan founder of "L2F4MH" and Jack Davis founder of "Its Cool to Cry", will both be involved in the Run for Andrew and will both speak at the "Run for Andrew V - Dinner".

Entry is easy, simply donate any amount on this Lifeline Australia – “Run for Andrew V” page and you and your other participants are considered entered.

Run Details:

Details for the “Run for Andrew V” (The Run/Walk Around the ‘Tan details):

Last year we had 50 runners and 80 at dinner and by all reports everyone had fun while at the same time raising $13,585 for Lifeline.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Lifeline exists so that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.

A target of $12,000 has been set for this year so please donate as much as you feel comfortable, as your “entry ticket” to the “Run for Andrew V”.

  • Each year, over 1 million Australians reach out to Lifeline for support.
  • Lifeline’s 13 11 14 crisis support line receives a call every 30 seconds.
  • Lifeline’s network of 41 centres, 10,000 volunteers, and 1,000 employees provide a lifesaving national infrastructure for those experiencing immense pain and anguish.
  • There are 3,500 Crisis Supporters working with Lifeline so that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.
