Why I'd Like to Fundraise for Lifeline

Hi friends and family!

For my birthday this year, instead of gifts, I really want to support a cause that means a lot to me. So hence: a Lifeline fund-raiser!

Mental health for all is really important to me, and anything you would like to contribute would mean so much!

A scary statistic I was reminded of recently was that 9 Australians die by suicide each day. This is absolutely not ok. :(

So what does Lifeline do? They essentially help people in pivotal moments in a mental health crisis. A key thing I learned from my recent mental health first aid course is that they also support people who are supporting people. So if you are worried about someone, you can also call Lifeline for assistance!

Statistics say that someone reaches out to Lifeline via phone, text and online chat every 24 seconds. So yes they need all the help they can get. I'm so glad they exsist.

While they recieve some government support, they do need donations to continue to operate, especially since they are getting more calls than ever.
