My target 50 kms

Throughout the month of January 2021, I am going to walk 50km to support the wonderful organisation, Lifeline. On 21 December 2020, in a year that has already been super challenging, a friend whom I have known since school, tragically lost her husband, Jared, to suicide, after a long battle with depression. I am doing this walk in Jared's memory and to raise awareness of depression, suicide and mental health issues while also raising much needed funds to support people who are suffering. It is important that we no longer shy away from these important conversations; we need to be having them all the time to help and understand mental health, just like we understand cancer or any other disease. As Jared's wife, Georgia, said in her eulogy to Jared; "it is time to get uncomfortable" in order to help anyone who is battling with depression or any other mental health issues of  which there are a myriad. Help me to reach my goal in honor of Jared!
